So hold me Mother B is the physical manifestation of a portal/altar that has emerged from a digital haze.
The title is a reference, if not a sacrifice, to Laurie Andersons track from 1981 ‘O Superman’, where an industrial sound transcends the emotional range with the sentence ‘So hold me mom / in your electronic arms’
The sculpture is extracted after a long-lasting stay in 3d programs and digital streams.
The artist has a predominant interest in removing the ephemeral material from its context and weighing its substance.
An embodiment of the artists digital efforts has culminated in a grey casted object, 119 x 119 x 17 cm in size, weighing approximately 180 kg and shaped like a square with two rounded edges.
These round edges is a structural softening of the material solidity.
The sculpture has a defined weight compared to its fleeting origin. It is brutal compared to its caring name. Its form is both sharp and round. These are the juxtapositions the artist wishes to accentuate, in a significant and fragile alternation between harmony and disharmony.
